Agarkar to miss the bus to Sri Lanka

Paceman Ajit Agarkar has been dropped from the 14-member Indian squad for the Asia Cup one-day cricket tournament beginning next week in Sri Lanka. Highly-placed sources said that wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel has been included in the squad which has four fast bowlers and two spinners in Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh, who makes a comeback after an injury layoff of six months that saw him miss the one-day series in Australia and Pakistan. Although the team was yet to be announced officially, Rohan Gavaskar, Hemang Badani, Ramesh Powar, Amit Bhandari and Murali Kartik, who were among the 20 probables named for the tournament, were overlooked.
