Melbourne: Former Australian all-rounder Ian Harvey, now playing for English county side Yorkshire, has been cleared to play cricket in South Africa next season. Harvey, 33, said today he plans to play for South African provincial side Nashua-Western Province Boland in the 2005-06 season. He formerly played for Victoria state in Australia. "Although it means giving up playing Australian state cricket, I felt that this was the right time to experience something new and I am now looking forward to the challenge," Harvey said. Harvey was not offered a new contract by Cricket Australia this season, taking him out of consideration for test or one-day international matches. (AP)
