Islamabad:
An unprecedented response for this month's India-Pakistan cricket series has resulted in on-line tickets being sold out within less than a week of its opening. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said the online booking quota has been exhausted and majority of the tickets have been bought by overseas Indians and Pakistanis. The PCB had allotted roughly 30 per cent of the tickets to be sold through online booking system marketed by websites like ww.cricinfo.com. The total number of tickets available for the series is said be around 450,000 for the one-dayers and Tests and 25 to 30 per cent of these tickets were on sale on the internet. According to initial figures most of the tickets on the internet had been snapped up by Indians and Pakistanis living abroad. The PCB was looking at figures of Rs 7 to Rs 8 crore from gate money after laying down a policy of discouraging free loaders and issuance of complimentary tickets. The tickets for the first one-dayer in Karachi go on sale from March 6 at booths inside the national stadium. (PTI)Topics mentioned in this article
