England duo Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann were recalled by Nottinghamshire for their domestic 40-over county final against Glamorgan at Lord's on Saturday.
Seam bowler Broad and off-spinner Swann were rested from the England squad beaten 2-1 in a recent five-match one-day international series against Australia after they each starred in the preceding 3-0 Ashes series win.
Both Broad and Swann are expected to be named in the England squad for the return Ashes series in Australia due to be announced at Lord's on Monday.
Broad replaced injured seamer Jake Ball (lower back), Nottinghamshire's leading wicket-taker in the tournament this season, while Swann came in for Riki Wessels, the son of former Australia and South Africa batsman Kepler Wessels.
This match, the last 40-over final before the tournament changes to a 50 overs per side competition next season, was also Glamorgan paceman Simon Jones's last appearance before he becomes a Twenty20 specialist.
The 34-year-old Jones was one of the seam bowlers who helped England regain the Ashes in 2005 but injuries have meant he hasn't played Test cricket since the fourth match of that series.
Jones's father Jeff, a left-arm fast bowler, also saw his England career cut short by injury.
Glamorgan won the toss and elected to field first in overcast conditions that looked as if they would assist their seamers.
