Kolkata: India's forthcoming tour of Pakistan and the Abhijit Kale controversy are likely to dominate the Cricket Board's Working Committee meet in Kolkata today. After 14 long years, India's national squad is scheduled to go to Pakistan, tentatively in March-April, to play Tests and one-dayers. The historic tour is being looked upon as ice-breaking in renewing bilateral cricketing ties between the two neighbours. Bribery allegations Another significant item on the 17-point agenda is the issue of Maharashtra batsman Abhijit Kale, who allegedly offered Rs 10 lakh each to two national selectors Pranab Roy and Kiran More for a place in the national squad. The Kale controversy came to light during the India-Australia tri-series final on November 18, when the two selctors reported the matter to BCCI chief Jagmohan Dalmiya. The Board placed Kale under suspension and appointed Bar Council chairman D V Subbarao as the one-man inquiry commissioner to probe the allegations. Constitutional changes The Working Committee is also likely to ratify a proposal to amend the BCCI constitution to suitably frame rules for granting associate or full membership to new affiliates. The proposal, if ratified, will be placed before a special General Body meeting of the Board. Once the General Body gives its nod, subsequent steps on granting affiliation to the new members, will be taken.
