A huge cheer greeted the arrival of former India all-rounder Robin Singh as the Boys from Chennai University knew they would have a special privilege. Ahead of the Toyota University Cricket Championship that begins on February 23, former India fielding coach Robin Singh headed down-south to share his expertise with the eager students from Chennai.
Amidst the fun-filled games, Robin took the players through a grilling session in fielding and the rather understated art of it. Focusing on the T20 format of the game, Robin was a disciplined task master as he coached his attentive batch in all aspects of fielding – from catching, to running and diving.
With personal attention to each player, Robin drew on his years of coaching experience which will only benefit Chennai University as they head into the 8-team Toyota University Cricket Championship. He touched upon technical aspects such as the speed of the ball and the direction of the wind, as the day-long coaching camp was a symbol of professionalism.
Chennai University were indeed lucky to have India's 'fielding guru' Robin Singh to aid them in their preparation for the coveted Championship.
