New Delhi: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly was confident that Yuvraj Singh, who is battling lung cancer, would emerge triumphant against the ailment.
Ganguly, who holds the credit of nurturing and channelising the talents like Yuvraj, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh and Virender Sehwag, said the left-hander has the entire nation praying for him.
"The entire country is praying for him...I firmly believe he would come out a winner, fighting the disease," Ganguly said.
Yuvraj, who started his international career under Ganguly's captaincy in 2000, also plays for the Pune Warriors in the IPL. In his absence, Ganguly will lead the side this season.
Ganguly, who is also the mentor of the Pune team, said that though Yuvraj's recovery will take time, he has age on his side. "It will take some time but the age is on his side," Ganguly said about his Pune Warrior teammate.
