Sydney: Cricket Australia (CA) on Friday announced squads for the two warm-up games against India leading to the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne.
India will play the CA Chairman's XI in a two-day match at the Manuka Oval in Canberra Dec 15-16, followed by a three-day game against another Chairman's XI outfit at the same venue Dec 19-21.
Ed Cowan will captain in the first match while the David Warner will lead in the subsequent match, where some of the players can stake claim for a place in the Australia squad for the first Test.
"The two Cricket Australia Chairman's XI games against India provide opportunities for many of our promising young players to display their talents and to gain experience against some legendary Indian players," CA National Selector John Inverarity said in a statement.
"In the second of these two Cricket Australia Chairman's XI matches, a number of players in contention for the Vodafone Boxing Day Test squad will have the opportunity to press their claims. In the second game, Shaun Marsh will be making his return from injury."
First game: Ed Cowan (captain), Joe Burns, Tom Cooper, Alex Doolan, Peter George, Jake Haberfield, Josh Lalor, Tim Ludeman, Glenn Maxwell, Joe Mennie, Wes Robinson, Dean Solway.
Second game: David Warner (captain), Doug Bollinger, Cameron Boyce, Tom Cooper, Trent Copeland, Alex Doolan, Peter George, Phil Hughes, Usman Khawaja, Josh Lalor, Tim Ludeman, Shaun Marsh.
