Melbourne:Handed Australia's Twenty20 captaincy and a USD 1.1 million contract with IPL team Deccan Chargers within a span of 48 hours, all-rounder Cameron White says the last couple of days are "yet to sink in".
"It has been a big couple of days," White told the 'Australian Associated Press'.
The 27-year-old on Friday replaced Michael Clarke as Australia's T20 captain after the latter quit to focus on Test and ODI cricket on Friday. The next day, White was sold for USD 1.1 million to Deccan Chargers.
"Obviously it sits pretty well. Like the last couple of days, it probably hasn't sunk in. It's obviously a nice thing to happen, the last couple of days, so yeah, what can you say?" he said.
His teammate David Hussey, who got signed for USD 1.4 million by Kings XI Punjab, said White would prove to be a great captain.
"He oozes lots of self-confidence and I think that helps his cricket brain as well," said Hussey.
"He's been around for a long time and I think he'll do remarkably well in the T20 format and hopefully further down the track higher honours as well," he added.
