Following are the statistical highlights of the second day's play in the first Test between Indian and South Africa in Centurion on Friday.

# Jacques Kallis has recorded his 38th hundred - a tally bettered only by two batsmen - Sachin Tendulkar (49) and Ricky Ponting (39).
# Kallis, during the course of his 102 not out,  has completed his 1,000 runs in 2010 - 1072 in ten Tests at an average of 82.46.
# Kallis, for the fifth time in a calendar year, has amassed 1,000 runs or more - the previous years being 2001, 2004, 2005 and 2007.
# Kallis has become the first South African to complete 1,000 runs in a calendar five times.  Only Sachin Tendulkar has accomplished the feat more times (six) than Kallis. Besides Tendulkar and Kallis, Matthew Hayden, Brian Lara and Ricky Ponting have recorded the feat five times.
# Kallis has posted four innings of seventy-plus in his last five innings - 73, 135 not out, 105 and 10 against Pakistan followed by 102 not out against India.
# Hashim Amla has posted his fourth fifty-plus  in his last five innings - 80 & 118 not out against Pakistan at Dubai. 4 & 62 at Abu Dhabi and 116 not out at Centurion.
# Amla's 12th hundred in Tests is his fifth against India.
# Amla has recorded six hundreds each at home and away from home, including one at neutral venue.
# Sehwag, Amla and Tendulkar now jointly share a record for most centuries (five) in India-South Africa Tests.
# Amla has registered four centuries in successive innings against India - 253 not out at Nagpur, 114 and 123 not out at Kolkata and 116 not out at Centurion.
# Amla is the second batsman after West Indian, Everton Weekes (1948-49 series) to post four hundreds in consecutive innings against India.
# Amla is averaging 606.00 in only four innings against India in 2010 - 606 runs at a strike rate of 49.95.
# Amla has completed his 1,000 runs against India, aggregating 1030 at an average of 73.57 in ten Tests. He is the second player from South Africa after Kallis (1189) to achieve the feat against India.
# Jacques Kallis and Abraham de Villiers put on a stand of 200 (unbroken) for the third wicket - South Africa's highest against India in South Africa and the second best overall, next only to the 340 between Amla and Kallis at Nagpur in February 2010.
# India (136) have registered their third lowest total against South Africa in South Africa - their two lowest being the 66 & 100 at Durban in December 1996.
# Sachin Tendulkar has top-scored in a completed Test innings for the 46th time.  Only West Indian, Brian Lara (49) has top-scored most times in Tests than Sachin.
# Morne Morkel (5/20) has recorded his career-best bowling performance in Tests, surpassing the 5 for 50 against Bangladesh at Dhaka in February 2008.
# Morkel's four instances of five-wicket hauls include one each against England, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
# Smith's 29th half-century (62) in Tests is his seventh against India.
# Graeme Smith and Alviro Petersen have shared a century partnership (111) - South Africa's fourth of 100-plus for the first wicket against India. 
# Petersen's 77 off 114 balls is his first fifty in South Africa.
# Petersen has posted his second best innings, next only to the 100 against India on Test debut at Kolkata in February this year.
# Petersen has recorded one fifty each against India, Pakistan and West Indies.
