Johannesburg:The number one Test team in the world reached Johannesburg last night for a tour that is being described as the final frontier.
In fact most members of the Indian Test side have gone to South Africa particularly early just to prepare for this final frontier.
Those who were part of the ODI series against New Zealand are expected to reach by Tuesday. The 3-Test series begins on Thursday -- the number one team aiming to become the first Indian side to win a Test series in South Africa.
India have won a solitary Test in 12 attempts since 1992.
The players will train at Kirsten's cricket academy in Cape Town before moving to Johannesburg to join the rest of the squad.
The three Tests in Centurion (December 16-20), Durban (Dec 26-30) and Cape Town (January 2-6) will be followed by a Twenty20 match and five one-day internationals.
The Indians will return from South Africa on January 24, less than a month before their first World Cup match against Bangladesh in Dhaka on February 19.
