New Delhi:Sri Lanka's recently retired spin star Muttiah Muralitharan has strongly defended captain Kumar Sangakkara implying that Suraj Randiv would have bowled the no-ball to Indian opener Virender Sehwag of his own accord.
"This incident has nothing to do with the captain, he was wicket-keeper and he would have been heard on the stump microphone if he gave the instructions. I can comment on one thing, Sanga would never influence him (Randiv) on decisions. Sanga is a very fair player and captain and I think Sanga would have spoken to Viru after the match," said in an exclusive interview. (Watch:If deliberate, will talk to Randiv: Sangakkara)
Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag on Tuesday said Sri Lankan off-spinner Suraj Randiv, who denied him a hundred in last night's ODI tri-series match by deliberately bowling a no ball, has apologised for his conduct.
