Karachi:
India had won the inaugural edition in 2007 and Pakistan won it last year in England.
"In T20 cricket you need flair more than clinical precision and that is why I don't see the World Cup going out of Asia this time as well.
"Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka will again be in the final and Bangladesh could also upset many form teams. The Asian players are much better equipped to this brand of the game than their counterparts from the west," he said.
The leg-spinner also warned all the teams to be wary of Afghanistan, who entered the tournament as qualifiers.
"The Afghanistan team includes players who have had their grounding in Pakistan and have appeared in Pakistan domestic cricket so they can't be discounted as they are fearless and big hearted players," he said.
Kaneria said that Pakistan had a strong bowling line up with some quality spinners and top class pace bowlers.
"I would be surprised if Pakistan is not there at the end because they have a inspirational captain in Shahid Afridi and the bowling is of the highest level," he said.
He said the pitches in West Indies would also suit the Asian teams better than the other sides.
"The pitches at most venues in West Indies are now slow and dry and spinners get plenty of encouragement."
