Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf has not filed an appeal against the indefinite ban imposed on him for indiscipline despite the passage of the deadline set by the Pakistan Cricket Board to challenge the punishment.

Yousuf said he has not appealed as he has retired from international cricket.

"I have no intentions of filing any appeal in future as well, I am retired and my international career is over," Yousuf said.

Yousuf and six other players were penalised by the board in march on the recommendations of an inquiry committee that probed into the team's poor performances in Australia and also into reports of infighting.

The six other players including Younus Khan, Shoaib Malik, Rana Naved, Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal and Shahid Afridi have all filed appeals against their bans and fines.

"Sadly we have not got any appeal from Yousuf and the situation now is that his ban can only be reviewed by the board which has the authority to lift it when they want," PCB legal advisor," Tafazzul Rizvi said.

Rizvi said PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt could ask the governing council to review the ban on Yousuf and end it or reduce it.

"But the appeals filed by the other players will now be taken up by a retired judge who is given this task by the governing council," he added.

The PCB has announced a panel of three retired judges of the Supreme and High Courts to look into the appeals and Rizvi said that the governing council will now nominate one of them to hear the appeals.

Sources within the board said the national selectors still want Yousuf and Younus in the team for the Test matches in England against Australia and England this year and the PCB might end their bans soon.
