Jaipur:South African pacer Dale Styn on Monday said his team would continue to pepper big hitting Yusuf Pathan with short stuff in the crunch IPL match against Rajasthan Royals here on Tuesday.
Steyn said his side would look to keep Yusuf quiet by not giving him space.
"All teams have one or two players around whom the team revolves. All teams prepare strategy for such players. Yusuf is such a player for the hosts and we were successful in the previous meeting of both teams at Bangalore. We would continue to bowl short against him and would try and not give room for his big hitting," Steyn said at the pre-match press conference.
Steyn denied that the defeat in the last match against Deccan Chargers would make it difficult to lift the morale of the team.
"Neither the hectic schedule and traveling nor the defeat against Deccan would make it difficult to lift the morale of the team. In fact, credit goes to Deccan who played brilliantly to notch up an impressive win. I would just say 'well done Deccan'," he said.
Steyn was happy that he could strike a good rhythm and be among wickets in the IPL.
"I am happy that I have learned a few tricks here which would also prove helpful in the coming Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies. I think IPL has done a good job. It is faster and bigger with more than 40-50 thousand people shouting, it sends blood pumping," said the South African.
"Tomorrow is a crunch match for us. We are in a must win situation. We would try and give our best to make it to last four. We want it more because the semi-final is at Bangalore and we want to play there in semi-finals in front of our home crowd," he said.
