Kolkata:Five players of the India cricket team including senior pro Sachin Tendulkar left the city early on Friday while the rest of the members and Sri Lankan players will take an afternoon flight to Delhi.
The players, who left early around 7:00 am in the morning include Tendulkar, Suresh Raina, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan and Gautam Gambhir.
The Mumbai duo of Tendulkar of Zaheer are believed to have flown to their home town.
"They left early, while rest of the team members and the Sri Lankan squad will leave the hotel at 12.30pm to take a scheduled flight at 12.50pm," local manager Samir Dasgupta said.
The squad for the fifth and last ODI of the five-match series will be announced in Mumbai today, and it is to be seen whether the Indian selectors choose to rest the senior players like Tendulkar.
India sealed the five-match series yesterday with an emphatic seven-wicket win over the visitors which gave them an unassailable 3-1 lead.
Having completed a two-match ban, regular skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is all set to make a comeback for the fifth ODI in Delhi on December 27.
