New Delhi:Speaking exclusively to NDTV, Australia captain Ricky Ponting on Wednesday lauded his team's performance and said the ODI series win against India in their own backyard is not less than the World Cup or Champions Trophy win.
"Series win right up there with World Cup and Champs Trophy", said the winning Aussie skipper.
He also mentioned the turning point of the series was the Mohali ODI and the fielding played a major role.
"Mohali ODI was the turning point of the series. Fielding was the big difference between the two teams", said Ponting.
Ponting discarded retirement talks and said his side was looking forward to improve Test performances.
"I'm not planning on retiring any time soon and we are still concerned about our performance in Test cricket."
He also admitted that his team lacked consistency.
"We've lacked consistency in the last 18 months but I am thrilled with the way the younger players have reacted".
The flamboyant Aussie also stated the fact that India felt short of timely performances.
"India need more than 2-3 players to contribute".
He also compared his teammates with Indians saying the visiting side had a better bowler in the form of Nathan Hauritz.
"Hauritz is a better bowler than Bhajji & Jadeja".
The ODI series win saw Australia retain the number one position after the last and final ODI in Mumbai was called off without a ball being bowled due to heavy unseasonal rains in the wake of a cyclonic storm over the Arabian Sea.
