Philadelphia (US):

India's Parimarjan Negi continued with his winning ways, adding yet another first to his resume when he finished joint first at the World Open Chess here.

Negi,15, who has already won the Kaupthing Open in Luxemburg and then the Philadelphia Open made it a hat-trick of titles with the World Open title here on Sunday.

However, Negi lost the trophy in a tie-breaker played over a blitz game to Evgeny Najer. According to rules, the trophy is decided through a tie-breaker between the two players with equal points. After thrashing Grandmaster Alexander Shabalov in the penultimate round Negi drew with GM Lubomir Ftachnik in the final round.

"It was a great performance. The main thing was that after losing the third round game against Grand Master Evgeny Najer, I came back with few wins specially it was nice to beat two strong Grandmasters quite smoothly," said Negi.
