Both teams needed a win after losing their opening Champions League T20 campaign. After a sensational contest which kept swinging either ways, Titans emerged victorious against Brisbane Heat in a low-scoring thriller. A look at some of the highlights from the match.
There was a rain delay but once the toss did take place, it was clarified that no overs would be deducted.
Brisbane skipper James Hopes won the toss and chose to bowl under overcast conditions.
Titans skipper Henry Davids lost partner Jacques Rudoplh early and was himself tested by the seaming deliveries.
Matthew Gale was the main star for Brisbane and his four wickets - three in the final over - restricted the South African side to 123 in 18.5 overs.
In reply, Brisbane too lost a wicket early when Joe Burns (unseen) failed to open his innings and surrendered to van der Merwe.
It was Hopes though who played a solid knock to take his side out of murky waters.
Brisbane had lost three wickets for 24 in 4.3 overs when Dan Christian stepped in. He joined Hopes (in pic) to help pace the innings for his team.
The two batsmen played well to keep the match evenly poised before their dismissals in quick succession brought Titans right back into the match.
Boundaries ensured that the match was taken to the final over with 10 required. Here is where de Lange stepped in and bowled a fantastic final over which cost just five runs and inflicted a stunning defeat on the Aussies.
