Athens :Several winners this year were barely out of their teens and along with 19 year Michael Phelps was 17 year Amir Khan who announced his name with a punch. With a silver medal in the bag Amir Khan, Britain's great boxing hope said that he would want to remain an amateur. He still finds it hard to believe that he came as close as 30-22 against a man twice his age. Fighting chance "I knew I was good enough to get a medal in the Olympics and I knew I was good enough to win fights, which I have done and it's all gone to plan. So what I expected to happen happened to me, so it was brilliant," said Amir. Even the legendary Evander Holyfield had great things to say about Khans bout. Holyfield was watching the finals sitting ringside. "He said it was brilliant, Evander Holyfield was brilliant, and he goes to me, like, them, you are the best lad I've seen who is 17, keep it up," Khan said about Holyfield's remarks. Bright future Amir Khan's Pakistan-born parents were also present at the event. He has already been predicted to be the one to win the gold at the 2008 Olympics. Sunday was only Khan's 14th senior level fight. According to most experts he showed great maturity which is bound to carry him far in the world boxing arena.
