Houston:
Former world heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman is making yet another comeback. The 55-year-old does not yet have a fight scheduled but he's training and actively seeking an opponent. Foreman says he began training on January 10, his 55th birthday. "I want to get back into the ring. I keep telling people that the frontier is not Mars it's 50 and 60. People are more afraid of that age than they are of going to outer space or another planet. There's something wrong," said Foreman. The former champion said he has already lost 11 kilograms in weight. Foreman has been very successful in his business dealings outside the ring. The George Foreman Grill has sold millions of units in the US and abroad. So why does a man who has enough money to live a number of lifetimes want to return to a sport like boxing and risk injury? "Do you know the most frightening thing to me? It's to ride around in a Rolls Royce, buy a condo, look at your watch and look at the Dow Jones and the Nasdaq. I don't want to spend my life like that. I need an adventure. I want to live, that's not living. That's existing. I'm even reading the Wall Street Journal. Things are going wrong here," said Foreman. Foreman has not fought since losing to Shannon Briggs in 1997. He said he knows people will make fun of him, but said he is used to it. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
