New Delhi:
Chetan became the first Indian man to win a Grand prix event when he clinched the USD 50,000 Bitbuger Open title in Saarbruken, Germany last week. He also won the Czech International title last month and now has a tally of 35750 points in the rankings released yesterday.
Arvind Bhatt, who finished runners-up in the Bitburger Open, has also surged four places up to 36th, pushing out-of-action Olympian Anup Sridhar to the 37th spot. Bhat now has a ranking point of 29037.
There is more good news for India, as the mixed doubles pair of V Diju and Jwala Gutta, who also became the first Indian pair to win a grand prix event by clinching the Bitburger Open mixed doubles title, climbed 25 places to 55th spot.
