As he prepares to spearhead the Indian men's singles' challenge at the World Championships, world number 10 Chetan Anand is taking tips from the legendary Prakash Padukone to sharpen his game.

"I spoke to Prakash sir, and got a few tips. So, I'm rearing to go there and very confident about making a mark," Chetan said, on the sidelines of a function here on Saturday.

"I have played well and very confident about my fitness and game. I have practiced with Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy in Bangalore for the past three weeks," he added.

Chetan and his shuttler wife Jwala Gutta signed a two-year sponsorship deal with Li Ning, a leading Chinese sports brand enterprises.

Asked about his expectations from the event starting August 10 here, Chetan said, "I am not thinking too much about the title but to put the best effort in the tournament. I just want to concentrate on my first round, which I am playing against a Korean."

The World No. 15 Chetan Anand, who is opening his campaign against Ji Hoon Hong of Korea, said, "It won't be an easy match. But I'm ready for it and I should be doing well."

The three-time national champion, who recently won the Tata Open in Mumbai, said he has performed well before the home crowd and hoped to continue the good performance.

The Arjuna awardee, however, rued the lack of recognition for shuttlers, who have been doing well.

"If you see the results, Indian shuttlers are doing really well, but they are yet to get recognition," he said.

On the sponsorship with Li Ning, Chetan said his aim is to promote badminton in India through this association.

"With Li Ning coming forward to promote sports especially badminton. I think it's a good step forward and hopefully the association with Li Ning will also be good for us and long," Anand added.

Jwala, meanwhile, said she was also ready for the tournament.
