The top five women to watch out for in the Australian Open
Serena Williams is not the top seed and ranked number one in the world for no reason. She can blast her opponents into submission and it would take an inspiring performance to defeat her in the upcoming Australian Open. (AFP Photos)
Currently ranked number two, Victoria Azarenka is the closest person to offer a challenge to Serena Williams. She can use her game to combat the pace of Serena and possibly stake her claim to the title this year.
Maria Sharapova may have had a relatively lean year, but the world number three is in no mood to be taken for granted as she hopes to end the title drought Down Under.
Agnieszka Radwanska is seeded fifth, however she is known to preform in crunch games and can change the run of play in the latter stages of the tournament.
Li Na is the dark horse of the tournament, but it would be no surprise if the fourth seed created flutters in the camp of the heavyweights by knocking the big shots out.
