A visit to Melbourne is not complete without the customary 'hello' to endangered animals. As the countdown to the year's first Grand Slam enters its final phase, here is how tennis stars are getting their fighting spirits up.All images courtesy: AFP PHOTO / TENNIS AUSTRALIA / FIONA HAMILTON
Laura Robson of Britain is seen here with a salt water crocodile.
The 19-year-old Laura suffered a wrist injury and had to pull out of Hobart International. Her wrists seem quite fine here though we don't know about her heart as she wraps an Australian python around her.
Of course, compared to a python, an eastern grey kangaroo joey is just too cute to send the heart pumping.
Germany's Sabine Lisicki - runners up in Wimbledon 2013 - though wants no cuteness about the way she plays on the court. It is all about stealth, strength and success.
China's Wu Di and Zhang Ze are seen here holding the python. The pyhton must clearly have had a lifetime's worth of snaps taken!
Wu Di seems to have realised it as he is seen here enjoying with a Kookaburra.
